About the event
Sotheby’s is honored to present Master Paintings and Sculpture: 1300-1900, our annual live auction featuring an array of works spanning media, periods, genres, and geographies. This year's offering includes the second phase of Property of the Bass Museum, which follows an incredibly successful first offering this past February. Distinguished private collections lead the sale, with significant offerings from The Collection of Jordan and Thomas A. Saunders II; Aso O. Tavitian; and Joel M. Goldfrank. Highlights from the sale feature a rare still life by Adriaen Coorte, as well as a selection of 19th-century paintings including examples by leading Barbizon painters Camille Corot, and Rosa Bonheur, the leading Academic artist William Bouguereau, and prominent Hungarian artists, including Mihály Munkácsy, Gyula Benczúr, and Philip de László.
