About the event
Sotheby’s is proud to host the 2025 Benefit Auction for El Museo del Barrio, held in conjunction with the Museum’s annual gala celebrating the life and legacy of Tony Bechara (1942–2025)—an influential artist, patron, and cultural leader.
This online auction presents over 25 exceptional works by some of the most celebrated names in contemporary art, including Tony Bechara, Candida Alvarez, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, David Antonio Cruz, Roberto Gil de Montes, and Edra Soto. Each lot has been generously donated by leading galleries and artists, with proceeds directly supporting El Museo’s exhibitions, educational initiatives, and its permanent collection.
