About the event
Sotheby’s is pleased to present Contemporary Discoveries, our exciting cross-category auction platform that features paintings, sculpture, prints, and photographs from the 1950s to today. In tandem with Modern Discoveries, which focuses on early Impressionism through the first half of the 20th century, Contemporary Discoveries is an innovative showcase for extraordinary artworks by established and emerging artists alike.
This season’s auction will feature wonderful examples by Alexander Calder, Christo, and Tom Wesselmann, alongside choice works by Mark Tansey, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, and Alice Baber.
The Contemporary Discoveries auction will open for bidding on July 8th, with lots closing in succession on July 15th. Our highlights exhibition will open at our York Avenue galleries on July 10th, where you can explore the exceptional pieces before placing your bids.
