A radical reinvention of beauty, now on view.From June 25 to September 22, 2025, Neue Galerie New York presents Sacred Spring: Modern Viennese Graphics, 1897–1918, a curated journey into the heart of artistic revolution. Featuring 75 exquisite works, the exhibition traces the evolution of modern graphics from the birth of the Vienna Secession to the final echoes of World War I.
At its core lies the philosophy of the Gesamtkunstwerk—the total work of art—uniting design, fashion, print, architecture, and performance. Guests will encounter early masterpieces by Gustav Klimt, original Ver Sacrum journals, and a dazzling array of Wiener Werkstätte postcards from the Leonard A. Lauder Collection. Also on display: rare artifacts from Cabaret Fledermaus, including posters, ceramics, and ephemera designed to transport visitors into the avant-garde nightlife of early 20th-century Vienna.
