In Pentagons and Folded Space, legendary painter Robert Mangold unveils a powerful new body of work exploring shape, symmetry, and spatial tension. Held across two floors of Pace Gallery’s Chelsea flagship, the show features recent paintings and multi-panel compositions from 2022–2024, as well as a series of intricate works on paper made in 2024. These pieces continue Mangold’s six-decade pursuit of geometric abstraction and visual perception.
As part of Pace’s 65th anniversary celebration, this marks the 15th solo show by Mangold with the gallery since 1991—an enduring relationship that has produced 16 exhibition catalogues and positioned him as a titan of Minimalism alongside peers like Sol LeWitt and Robert Ryman.
