About the event
The annual New Combinations program at the New York City Ballet brings together an exciting mix of classical and contemporary works, highlighting the diversity and innovation of the ballet repertoire.
Opening the program is Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht Ballet, a dazzling and exhilarating piece performed by a cast of two dozen women, soaring and sweeping across the stage to the music of Gounod's opera Faust. The program continues with an excerpt from Bournonville’s Flower Festival in Genzano, a joyful pas de deux showcasing the buoyant and fleet choreography of the 19th-century Danish master.
Jerome Robbins’ Opus 19/The Dreamer finds dramatic depth and nuance in Prokofiev’s evocative score, offering an intimate and mysterious ballet. The evening concludes with a new premiere by Resident Choreographer Justin Peck, continuing the tradition of fresh and innovative works at NYCB.
Join us for a night that celebrates the artistry of classical ballet and modern choreography alike.
