About the event

Eclectic NYCB III offers a diverse evening of ballet, beginning with Jerome Robbins' Opus 19/The Dreamer, a work that has held a prominent place in the repertory since its debut over four decades ago. Set to Prokofiev’s evocative violin concerto, this ballet follows the "dreamer" through a mysterious nightscape, blending emotional depth with enigmatic choreography. The work continues to captivate with its alluring narrative and haunting atmosphere.

Next, Standard Deviation, the first work created for the company by Canadian choreographer Alysa Pires, brings a dynamic fusion of neoclassical and contemporary elements. Set to music by Jack Frerer, the ballet is a complex, multifaceted piece for three featured dancers and an ensemble. The work mirrors the quicksilver shifts of the music, moving between neoclassical symphonic sounds and contemporary jazz with seamless fluidity.

The program concludes with the premiere of a new ballet by longtime Principal Dancer Tiler Peck, continuing her creative journey…
