About the event
Event Overview From January 15 to 18, 2026, Yefim Bronfman — a titan of the concert stage — reunites with the New York Philharmonic for Robert Schumann’s Piano Concerto, a Romantic-era masterpiece that is as intimate as it is heroic. Under the baton of Xian Zhang, the evening continues with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 2, an exuberant tribute to Ukrainian folk music and one of the composer’s most cheerful creations.
Opening the program is the New York Premiere of Chen Yi’s Landscape Impression, a modern orchestral tone poem inspired by classical Chinese poetry — blending East and West, past and present, in vibrant textures and melodies.
This concert promises a unique fusion of lyricism, nationalism, and pure virtuosic fire — an ideal match for Bronfman’s commanding artistry.
