The program opens with Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man—a stirring tribute to human dignity—followed by Grammy-winning violinist Joshua Bell performing Thomas de Hartmann’s Violin Concerto, a deeply expressive work composed during World War II and rediscovered for modern audiences. “It’s both heart-wrenching and uplifting,” says Bell, “as gripping and relevant today as when it was composed.”
