Event Overview From September 11 to 16, 2025, Gustavo Dudamel begins his tenure as Oscar L. Tang and H.M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Music and Artistic Director Designate with a bold, reflective, and deeply resonant program at David Geffen Hall.
In a season opener that honors 250 years of American history, the New York Philharmonic presents the World Premiere of of light and stone by Kanaka Maoli composer Leilehua Lanzilotti, specially commissioned by the Orchestra. Rising global sensation Yunchan Lim joins as soloist for Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 3, composed during the Hungarian master’s years in exile in New York.
