About the event
On September 11, 2025, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum will hold its 24th Annual Commemoration Ceremony at the Memorial plaza in Lower Manhattan. This private event is dedicated to honoring the 2,983 individuals who perished in the September 11, 2001 attacks and the February 26, 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
The ceremony will commence at 8:30 a.m., with the first moment of silence observed at 8:46 a.m., corresponding to the time the first plane struck the North Tower. Throughout the ceremony, six moments of silence will mark the times of the attacks and the collapse of the towers. Family members of the victims will read aloud the names of those lost, accompanied by musical tributes and personal remembrances.
The Memorial plaza will open to family members at 7:30 a.m., and the ceremony is expected to conclude around 1:00 p.m. The 9/11 Museum will be open exclusively to family members from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00…
