Event Overview
From Thursday, August 27, through Monday, September 7, 2026 (dates subject to final confirmation), Brooklyn will transform into a pulsating celebration of Caribbean heritage as the New York Caribbean Carnival returns. Organized by WIADCA, this multi-day cultural festival is widely regarded as one of North America’s largest carnival events, drawing more than 1.5 million visitors and participants in recent years.
The heart of the festival centers around Lefferts Avenue (and surrounding streets) near Crown Heights in Brooklyn, where music, masquerade, street food, costume bands, and the vibrancy of Caribbean diasporic culture converge. Daytime processions lead into late-night parties, and the event offers a tapestry of rhythm, heritage and creative expression.
