About the event
The Charlie Parker Jazz Festival returns for its 33rd year, honoring the bebop pioneer with three days of world-class performances in the neighborhoods he once called home. From August 22 to 24, 2025, the festival will feature free concerts at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem and Tompkins Square Park in the East Village.
This year's lineup includes legendary bassist Ron Carter with his Great Big Band, trumpet virtuoso Nicholas Payton, the Bertha Hope Quintet, rising vocalist Georgia Heers, GRAMMY and Tony Award-winning singer Dee Dee Bridgewater with pianist Bill Charlap, saxophonist Gary Bartz with his Ntu Troop, and the Jazz Gallery All-Stars featuring Miguel Zenón, Joel Ross, Kendrick Scott, and Renee Neufville.
Beyond the main stage, the festival offers a rich tapestry of jazz culture with film screenings, workshops, and intimate performances throughout the city. These events provide a deeper dive into the genre's history and its contemporary evolution.
