Now in its 51st year, the Adirondack Balloon Festival is one of the most breathtaking and iconic free public events in the Northeast. Held each September after Labor Day, it brings together over 100,000 spectators and international balloonists for four days of magical ascents, community spirit, and stunning visuals over the Adirondack skyline.
What began in the early 1970s as a tourism initiative has grown into a cherished tradition at Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport. The festival has hosted balloonists from across the U.S., Japan, Canada, and beyond, elevating Glens Falls to international recognition.
