About the event
The 2025 12 Meter Heritage Regatta returns to New York Harbor from May 31–June 1, reviving the glory of the iconic 12 Meter racing yachts—the very vessels that dominated the America’s Cup from 1958 to 1987.
Hosted by the New York Harbor Sailing Foundation, this amateur regatta invites teams of college alumni from across the U.S. to charter a 12 Meter, assemble a crew, and race on the open harbor—without spinnakers, making the competition accessible, thrilling, and community-driven.
