About the event
This spring, experience Picasso: Tête-à-tête, a landmark exhibition curated in collaboration with Paloma Picasso, on view from April 18 through July 3, 2025, at Gagosian’s flagship gallery at 980 Madison Avenue. Marking the gallery’s final show at this iconic location, the exhibition offers an intimate encounter with the artist’s legacy—one shaped by personal history, stylistic evolution, and familial reverence.
More than fifty paintings, drawings, and sculptures spanning 1896 to 1972 will be on view—many from Picasso’s personal estate, including a dozen works never before exhibited publicly and others unseen for decades. Reflecting Picasso’s own approach to exhibition-making, these works are presented not chronologically, but in dialogue across eras, offering a powerful, personal reflection on transformation, memory, and identity.
Exhibition highlights:
Works curated in conversation by Paloma Picasso, many drawn directly from Picasso’s studio holdings
Thematic juxtapositions inviting viewers into Picasso’s creative continuum
Rare opportunity to witness pieces unseen since Picasso’s lifetime
