Event Overview From April 30 to May 2, 2026, the New York Philharmonic welcomes audiences to a rich and emotionally stirring program at Wu Tsai Theater, David Geffen Hall. Under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel, this concert brings together visionary artists and powerful works — past, present, and future — in a sweeping celebration of orchestral storytelling.
At the heart of the evening is Ernest Bloch’s Schelomo, a soulful meditation on the life and sorrow of King Solomon, brought to life by cello virtuoso Sheku Kanneh-Mason, the Philharmonic’s 2025–26 Artist-in-Residence. With a tone that evokes anguish and wisdom, Sheku becomes the voice of Solomon’s despair and dignity, wrapped in Bloch’s lush orchestration.
